Wow, today is a busy day too. I just got back form Port Moody and now I'm meeting my sister D. in about half an hour. It's my mom's birthday today so were all going out for dinner somewhere I guess.

Ok, that's better...:)
Ah good! I went to the gym. It wasn't the best workout, but it'll do me until the next one. I really don't like working out at night when the gym is crowded. I'd much rather go in the morning. I usually have more energy to burn in the morning anyway.

.

Frankly, I don't like the gym at all. I'd way rather work out at home, but I don't have the necessary equipment or space right now. I'm the kind of guy who like to exercise in the great outdoors where there's no traffic and plenty of fresh air.

Now I'm cooking my dinner. It's fish with bok choy, bean sprouts, zuchinni and rice. I love fish and I eat almost every day.

Wow! When I was tying this a HUGE hellicopter flew right over head and it was freakin' loud!!! The cats freaked! I wonder what that was about? I looked outside, but it was already gone. Freaky!

Ok, gonna eat dinner now.

Ciao!

I didn't do too much today, but my morning started out really good. I got an email from J. who just got back from her trip to Florida and she emailed me a bunch of her photos which were awesome! J. is a very lovely woman. I love getting emails like that. Thanks J! ;)

Then I went for a good bike ride with my best friend L. It was good because I need the excercise and riding with a friend is much nicer than doing it alone. I live in the big city of Burnaby though, so there's always lots of cars in the way (even though there's a dedicated bike route) and you really have to be careful to avoid being run over by someone yakking on their cellphone. 'Cause I mean really, who want's to get run over?

The bike ride lasted over an hour and by then I was hungry and tired. I wanted to go to IHOP (I love IHOP, and now I live only 5 minutes from one) for lunch, but we both decided we were too dirty and messy looking to go in there and eat (we had mud on us) and so we went to Tim Horton's instead. They don't care if you come in wearing mud--they don't care if you come in wearing a chicken hat, as long as you come in and buy doughnuts--so we ordered some Timbits and coffee and sat and ate them. I had a toasted bagel too, but it was mushy and gross so I just ate the timbits.

I brought the digital camera along too, but I didn't get any pictures.

Later this afternoon I decided to start tweeking this new journal a little. I added an old guestbook, but I don't like the old one, so now I'm working on a new one. I did manage to install a new 'guestmap' in the journal. It's kinda cool. You can put a little icon on the map where you live. I haven't used it too much yet though, so I'm not sure how it behaves. I got it for free from Bravenet. I did notice however that while using it some pop-ups came up. I don't like pop-ups, so if it starts filling your screen with annoying adds, please email me and I'll remove it.

I'm going to install a guestbook too. It's going to need some customizing, so it may change a few times over the next few days.

Ok, I'm off to have some tea now, and I'm going to bed early tonight.

Good night.

I think I might go down town today and get a hair cut. I'm getting a little shaggy here. I always go to the same hairdresser. She's really good and so I stick with her. I'm not sure why, but I've been to many hairdressers who'd be better suited as butchers. Should it really be painful to get your hair cut? So yeah, that's why I go to this one.

Tonight at 5:00 I have to go meet up with some guy from New Westminster to give him a Toyota Tercel Repair Guide that he purchased from me on Ebay. I'm going to meet him at the Starbucks at Lougheed Mall. It's going to look like some kind of drug exchange to everyone else.

I'm gonna be pressed for time if I go get my haircut today. I'm not sure. I'll see what happens.

See ya later,

Ok, so I found a place to host my images today. It's called "VillagePhotos". I have to pay $7.50(USD) per month, but I think it's a pretty good one. I'm going to use it to display images here and on all my Ebay auctions.

By the way, here's a link to my Ebay auctions in case anyone wants to see what I'm currently selling: Modigiliani(lives). Funny user name I know. I chose it a few years back when I was really into Amedeo Modigliani paintings.

I'm all messed up from the switch back to standard time. It always messes me up. No matter how early I set the clocks ahead, my body always knows, particularly when I sleep. This morning I really slept in, but I didn't really, and I was tired for it. Does anyone know why we still use daylight savings time? I've heard it's left over from the war or something. Income tax is left over form the war too. It would be nice to do away with both.

Here's a funny photo:

I noticed this guy propped up outside a tourist shop in downtown Vancouver. As soon as I saw his hand extended like that I knew it was a good photo opportunity. I got my buddy Reno to take the shot with my Canon G2 while I shook his hand. The people who owned the store were all looking out the window laughing at me. I think they were wondering what I was doing with their "store mascot". I don't know who the guy is, perhaps it's the store owner, or some famous Japanese actor or something. I'm going to go back there again and take more funny photos of this guy, I mean having his hand out like that leaves him wide open for crazy photo opportunities.

Going to bad now,

Goodnite.

Hi. Welcome to my new Blog.

Last year about this time, I created a Blog site called "Life after Work". At that time I had two jobs and not a lot of spare time, so I was finding it difficult to keep up with the updates. I kinda had to let it go, even though I really enjoyed it.

Things are much different now. I have more time on my hands and I don't have the second job anymore, so I really want to put some effort into this one.

I think the thing that rekindled my interest was a website I found last night while I was looking for information on how to us a Canon G2 for infrared photography. It's this person 8pril. She has a website in which she talks about her day to day life in her journal and she posts photos of interesting things she encounters with her digital camera.

Sure, there's nothing new about that, many people have on-line journals and post images. But I realized that I should be doing this!. I was doing it to a certain extent last year, but since I had only a film camera, it wasn't very feasible. I had to process my photos and then scan them into the computer, further alter and touch them up with photoshop and then upload them to post to the blog. Well now I have a nice Canon G2 digital camera and so I can really get out there and have fun without having to worry about film costs and processing.

I think I have to find an image hosting company first though before I can post a lot of photos. I'll have to do some research and find a good one. Lately I've been using MSN communities to host my images (mostly for my auctions on Ebay) but MSN limits you to only 3 megs of space. That's not nearly enough for me.

Ok, enough of my chatting for now, I'm gonna work on developing this site.

See ya Later,

-Mark
