Farewell to Helmut Newton, a great photographer. Though controversial to some, his black and white portraits inspired many photographers. In the realm of photography, he was truly great.

It's been business as usual all this week. I've been waiting for the weekend to hurry up and come (but may it slow way down when it arrives) and I'm eager to get out and do some photography. This time of year is very tricky for photography here in this part of the globe. It's sunny and warm sometimes now, but then it starts raining for a few days at a time, and usually on the weekend. I'm really hoping this weekend will finally break through with some sun, but the forecast isn't pointing in that direction. I'm still waiting to go out to White Rock and get some nice photos.
Work hasn't been entirely dull this week--there have been some pretty funny moments, thanks to T. He may be the weirdest guy I've ever met. Just when I think I'm seen or heard the weirdest thing, T. goes and pushes the envelope. Here are some photos I shot of him yesterday. We were on out coffee break and I thought I'd get some pictures of him enjoying a cigarette:
And this here--well I don't know what he's doing here. We found this pair of scissors and I gave then to him. He insisted that I take a picture of him doing this:
Then today T. was using a fence post pounder on some tree steaks we were installing. Unfortunately when he dropped it on the ground, he dropped it directly into a large pile of doggy doo-doo. It was disgusting. He had to try to remove it with some cleaning rags and the poor guy was getting it all over the place. Ugh! Better him than me.
I've been doing Yoga almost every day now. I'm starting to really like it again. It sure is good exercise. I'm still a little pooped afterward, but I'm getting better at it. I have to get at it right after I get home from work, or I'm finding there are too many distractions (especially this computer), or I end up taking a big nap. You all know what happens then--my whole evening is gone. So yeah, it's been a little difficult to apply the self-discipline required, but it's coming along.
Ok, I'm off.
-Gnite.

Today I was stuck working in the middle of the woods (in the middle of nowhere) and then the fog rolled in.
Oh god, I think I'm in the movie "Deliverance". Somebody get me a banjo.
That was T. holding up a shovel like a rifle. Yeah, I really don't know why. I just took the picture.
So yeah; weird day today. After work I got home and I had every intention of doing some exercises, but I took a nap instead. I managed to throw myself out of bed at about 6:30 though, so it wasn't one of those nights where I slept the night away after 5:00PM. I hate when that happens.
I stopped by L.'s place tonight and we watched American Idol. I don't usually watch that show, but man is it funny!! I can't believe just how bed some of those singers are! I mean some of them are really good but there are a few that are amazingly awful! You wouldn't catch me up there singing my guts out just to have Simon tell me I'm the 'new worst thing he's ever heard'. Bloody hell no! But then I don't sing.
So after we watched American Idol, I had to leave because I still had to get some groceries for this week at Extra Foods (a supermarket that I like to go to). I wanted to make some nice pita wraps with rice, Tzatziki, and tuna or something in them, but they were all out of Tzatziki. It seems I rarely get what I want in life, even a simple little jar of Tzatziki, without some stupid obstacle in my way. So I ended up buying Miracle Whip instead. Not a real replacement for Tzatziki, but at least it's Kosher.
Holy crap, I gotta get to bed. It's another late night and I'm going to have troubles getting out of bed.
bye for now.

Trailer Disaster,
orD'Oh!
Today there was a little mishap at work. It seems a very heavy pile of metal fencing fell over and squashed one of our tractor trailers.
I noticed yesterday that they (the contractors who are building a metal fence up on the highway near our works yard) stacked the metal fencing rather close to the tractor trailer, and I wondered how we were supposed to hook up the trailer to our truck with that pile directly in the way. I'm thankful that no one got caught in between the pile and the tractor. Here's some more photos of the carnage:
On the weekend it was raining again, so I didn't do much photography. However, I did end up going to Fort Langley with my Friend A. and his Girlfriend J. It's kinda neet there; lots of old buildings and things to look at. I got A. to shoot some photos of my goofing around:
