Cafe S'il Vous Plait

There's a restaurant I always like to go to when I'm downtown Vancouver. It's called "Cafe S'il Vous Plait" and it's on the corner of Robson and Richards. I love the food there. It's simple, wholesome food, and it's inexpensive. It's a charming little place because of it's design. If you're ever in there, check out the stairs up to the washroom in the back. It's the weirdest staircase you'll ever climb. You'll feel like you're drunk, so hang on tight to the railing.

There's two little washrooms at the top of the stairs. One has red painted walls. I took a few photos in there, just for the hell of it. Here's me:

I was trying to take a picture of myself in the mirror with the red light overhead. I thought I had the camera in the right spot, but I kept missing.

Pay-Per-View

Here's one of those 'pay telescope things'.

Call me weird, but I've always liked these telescope things. When I was a little kid, I remember my parents taking me on vacation. It seemed like wherever we went, there was almost always one of these to play with. Sometimes I was too short, and my dad would have to pick me up so I could see through it. Most of the time I couldn't really see anything though it, but that didn't matter; it was the idea that was cool. I remember finding the occasional one that was broken, and didn't require a quarter to make it work. That was a major bonus. Today I tried this one without a quarter, but it wouldn't let me see anything--it seems to be functioning--besides, now they want a dollar, not just a quarter. And it's 2 dollars if you want to see through both holes. Of course you want to see through both holes--what were they thinking?! Sheesh!

Elmer

If you hang out around English Bay in Vancouver very much, then there's a good chance you've seen (or met) Elmer (AKA 'Elmo'). He always has a little instamatic camera with him, and a whole bag, or suitcase full of pictures. He loves taking pictures and he'll excitedly show you every one of them.

He also loves having his picture taken, but not before he takes several pictures of you.

Bill

It's the kitty

Here's kitten. She's flopped on the carpet. It's funny when she does this, it usually means she wants her belly rubbed.
