What a mess eh?!

Jebus!

That's because tomorrow (Sunday, August 14th) the apartment complex I live in is having it's annual yard sale. I have a whole lot of stuff to get rid of and so does my best friend who's also going to help. I hope it all sells, because, I seem to be slipping into the 'pack rat' habit of my parent's generation. Yeah, I took a good look around today and thought,
I have way to much junk that's just taking up space. It's atta here!

Good bye to Julia Child. She was a great cook and a wonderful person. I'll never forget the time that she was on Martha Stewart's show. They were making some kind of cake, when suddenly Julia reached down and stuck her finger in the batter and then popped it in her mouth. Martha witnesed the whole thing and she looked like she was about to explode! I guess Martha Stewart didn't think that was such 'a good thing'! Ha-ha!! Good old Julia!

I just went for a little bike ride. I really needed to get out of the house for a while. I've been cooped up here for too long.

So I rode part (a very small part)of the way up the big Gaglardi hill up to SFU. As some of you reading this already know, I used to ride all the way up about 3 or 4 times a week. That was last summer. Now that I think of it, why did I ever stop doing that again? But anyway, today was just a short ride because I don't want to stress my back at all. It seems to be doing ok today, so I should be back to work on Monday. I just don't want to push things. No point ending up back off work with the same back problem.

I really wanted to go see my best friend L. briefly on the way back, maybe have a nice cup of tea and watch some TV but she wasn't home. I kinda miss her, because I haven't seen her in a few days.

I have some new images that I've been working on with photo editing software. It's a whole new learning curve using this, so I'll post some more photos soon.

See ya later!

I haven't been at work since last Thursday morning. I hurt my back. I guess while I was working, one of the disks in my vertebrae thought it would be a good idea to try to leave. So I spent the weekend in agony, lying flat on the floor most of the time, watching movies. There wasn't much else I could do, because I couldn't walk very well. Today I went in to see my physiotherapist. He's great! He's the same one who fixed my knees when they were really failing. He's a great guy and it's always good to see him. He started working on my back today, and I've already noticed a good amount of relief. I go back again on Wednesday for more. I have to really take it easy for a few days now though.

As far as photography is concerned, I've been considering the field of stock photography. I really like the idea of photos that continue to generate revenue, rather than one-time sales. I can still do the same styles of photography that I'm doing, but with more emphasis on photos that can be used in advertising. Everything has it's pros and cons though, so I'm going to do more research before I jump right in.

There's a family of Swallows living in the underground parking lot of my home. I've been watching them since they moved in. It seems like only a few weeks ago that they built their nest, and now the babies are big enough to fly already! They sure are lovely little birds.

Yesterday was the first day of flying lessons for them. One has already left the nest, and there's two more that will leave soon.

Here's a shot of them being fed by one of the parents:
