For this shot, I turned my 50mm lens around backwards and held it against the camera:

Wow Mark!! Pretty flowers!!! I can't believe the Crocuses are already out in Van.!! I'll have to wait another month before they start blossoming here!!! :)
Hi Anna! :) I'm glad you like the pictures! Yup, it's been pretty warm here lately, so the flowers are starting to pop up everywhere.
Thanks for visiting! ;)
Talk to ya soon!

Gorgeous - the colors, the patterns, everything! Love that last photo. It's a great effect.
Thanks K! I really enjoy experimenting with things like that. It was about 20 years ago that a friend of mine demonstrated that a lens could be turned around backwards for an extreme closeup effect. You can get some really interesting stuff that way.
Beautiful!
I love the shots! The flowers are so beautiful! And that special extremly zoomed in one is so FABULOUS I had to use it as my background! It's been a blast to look at that flower whenever I get to my desktop environment! :)
I just happened across your site today, and I found your photographs stunning.
I will be back.
