Last summer I was wandering around the beach late one afternoon with my camera. I noticed this woman crafting some jewelry and necklaces et cetera. I looked at the stuff she was selling and I ended up buying one of her hand made men's necklaces. It's nicely made. I sat and chatted with her for a while, and she said she's visiting from Mexico. Most of the clothing she's wearing she made by hand.
Here's a photo I shot early last summer. I was setting up the camera on a tripod when I noticed this really nice spot of reflected light on the ground. Just as soon as I'd noticed it, a person on a bicycle rode by, so I took the shot of their shadow. I rarely do abstract photos, and this one I really like:
I may have posted that one before, but I reworked it in black and white.
Here's a shot from last spring while I was in Fort Langley with some friends:
I hope the weather improves here soon, because it's really been a long time since I've been out on a good photography adventure. Lately every weekend has been bad weather. Also, my car is broken down now, so it's a little harder to carry all my gear around with me.

Wow, three great shots - three totally different subjects. The top photo is so perfect, showing her concentration and so many small details.
Thanks K! :)
bang on!
Thanks B&B! Man, I'd really like to make a big print from the first two photos. Everything looks so much better on a quality sheet of paper.
Hello Mark! Nice shots as always. Do you also take photos of interesting houses and man-made structures in your area? Your neighborhood looks like a very nice place to stay in, based on your photos of people and animals, and landscapes.
Hi there Nick!
I haven't really shot any architectural photos for a long time now. I do like interesting building designs, but at this time I don't have the lens that I would prefer for that kind of photography. One of these days when I can afford it, I'm going to purchase a nice Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L wide angle zoom lens. Back when I used the film SLR, I had a few wide angle lenses that used to shoot closeups of big geese and other wildlife. It creates a really interesting perspective (if the animal will allow me to get close enough). I miss those old lenses.
Interesting stuff, photography is. So there is a particular lens for a particular subject. *whew!*
I love these! I took the girls to a local beach & fishing port near my moms house over the weekend and we got a bunch of great shots. I will be posting them soon. They had about a foot more snow than I did here. Courtney got some beautiful shots with her new camera.
Talk to you soon :)
Great photos! I really loved that woman's photo! You have so many interesting photos in your blog! :)
Thanks Metallyptica! Your blog is really cool as well!
